Arguably. Plays better than 1 and story is about as good. I do like the characters better in 2, at least they all got unique models instead of those splicer recolors they kept spamming.
I'm still mad about Infinite.

Plays better than 1 and has a better story than Infinite

Shame the PC port is really prone to crashes and audio bugs (Hope you like hearing the 10 second Big Sister fight music on repeat in some levels if you reload a save)

The only bad thing I have to say about 2 is that the Protector Trials were DLC
Do they have Leaderboards for it on Steam? I own the GoG version

I played 2 first so I'm biased but I think it improves on everything the first did. Playing as a Big Daddy is one of the most fun experiences I've had in a game because even doing a melee only run feels satisfying. 1 Is more survival horror which I understand the appeal but having one weapon out at a time feels so wrong when the game wants you to fight everything anyways.

Yeah it improves on everything from the first game, the only thing that's worse is the main bad being some psychiatrist chick.

Yes. Delta and Eleanor make for a better pair than Jack and random goblins. Stakes are higher and caue more connection because you actually give a shit when El gets pillowed.
Plasmids are better, guns are better. Repeated defense is annoying but its optional so evens out.
Best ending too, Eleanor keeping Daddy around as she goes off.
What is 1? You are dude, help some bitch, OH NO HE DO BETRAY AHH, kill big monster. There isnt anything after the first playthough.

1 has a great story, but 2 also has a pretty good story as well and the gameplay feels waaay smoother and dynamic. you don't really feel liek a big daddy for a while in 2, but once you get more powerful you just wrecking ball through and having shit like drill and plasmid only was really fun. best decision they ever made was making the drill good and having a whole build based on it. Also good dlc.

1 isn't really survival horror at all since it's easier than 2
You can carry around more medkits and the game never tries to overwhelm you with enemies except maybe one time in Hephaestus IIRC. Not to mention how early it gives you the grenade launcher

Don't worry about it too much, Minerva's Den isn't too special anyway. The new weapon and plasmid are both honestly kinda lame and the levels weren't anything special either aside from that one pretty cool file archive room and the big fight by the Thinker at the end

Well the bad guy in 1 was Fontaine, who was just a greedy asshole, not an interesting character at all
Sophia Lamb was a great villain, I don't think I've ever seen another villain like her where she's so convinced of utopian utilitarianism that there's no humanity left in her when it comes to personal interactions, even treating her own daughter as little more than a tool for her insane world peace plan.
It's like the one time a big budget game ever portrayed a form of liberalism negatively

I dropped Minerva's Den after 10 minutes because the laser is such gay downgrade from the drill.

What were they thinking?
Anonymous No.720413717 [Report]

You still have the drill in Mineva's Den
The Ion Beam I think was supposed to be like a recoilless version of the Machine Gun but its DPS is so low that it's worthless

Infinite is the worst vidya ever
Anonymous No.720416487 [Report]
Pretty much.
For some reason many people have the idea that "Like the 1st game but better" sequels are bad.
So they ate up Infinite. Only good thing it had was Elizabeth sfm.

This is technically the same fucking Engine as Republic Commando

Play the original version with -dx9 launch command. Never crashed once on my machine. It'll look a little uglier than dx10 but not dealing with windows/nvidia fuckups of the original or chinesium coding of the remaster is worth the tradeoff.

It’s pretty kino. I replay 1 and 2 yearly and 2 is way more fun to play. I wish 2 had been allowed to do a new setting like they wanted to, but considering they had to work within their limitations, they did a good job. Definitely better than that piece of shit infinite.
