Well, that's on you, take it or leave it, the game is being straight (heh) with you about what they are showcasing

The whole premise of the game is that all the heroes you dispatch are either z-list quasi-heroes or villains on parole. The dirty/muted designs are part of the aesthetic. The heroes actually active, the blonde lady and the moustache superman guy have clearly more "heroic" costumes that the guys you are meant to tard wrangle.
I find the art actually quite decent since you have to remember that they also have to animate the whole thing with specific animations since most of the game is animated as a show, so having simpler designs also feels more like a practical choice, taking in account they are an indie dev.
I'm enjoying it so far, the demo hooked me, but they've been radio silence for a while and that's the worrisome part.
