So it seems. Maybe those rumors about Valve making another headset will materialize, then maybe that hypothetical headset also comes with another game to match. Maybe.

That's actually completely false, it's not that people need AAAAAA gwafix in VR. There is some issue with graphics too, but that's mostly because games are turbotrash meant to run on some Quest literal phone SoC and then get ported with no effort added to PC while looking like complete dogshit. But still, that's not the main problem. The main problem is that VR devs do not seem to care about adding actual content to their shit. They just figure out some VR mechanic, then throw it in some garbage arena mode or "procedurally generated" campaign that's just a sequence of square rooms tied together by hallways. They think all they need to make is some VR gimmick and the rest, as in the actual fucking game, is just some afterthought. That's the problem.
Playing DOOM from 1993 in VR is better than 99% of VR-only games out there because you can play a good WAD and have a great time actually playing a good game with good content despite the 30 year old graphics. This is why the best content in VR just comes from regular game ports and mods, because all the VR devs think making fucking garbage is good enough if you throw 1 polished VR mechanic about fondling guns or some shit in there.

That was never the problem. It's important for something to be good first before it becomes cheap, because something good but expensive can still slowly build an audience as it matures and becomes cheaper, but something cheap and crap is just crap that nobody wants. VR is actually mostly in the latter situation, cheap and crap, with the Zuckerberger Quest headsets enforcing an incredibly low performance cap that results in garbage shovelware and no games with actual ambition, which in turn killed the market because they're not good enough for most people to care.
