Crash was going through a revival and resurgence during Ultimate's lifespan, which means he was relevant and so had at least a semblance of a chance of getting added if both parties wanted
now his last release was a flopped garbage live service game that was so bad it kicked him back into obscurity and turned him back into laughing stock. it's just never happening

I definitely think they missed the boat on it happening. Sora was a real monkey's paw final pick, especially as a KH fan

Not that I think that Crash is happening, but you should probably stop using this as an argument. It's already been proven that they'll bend the rules if they see fit. Crash could be the Banjo-Kazooie of the next game, a pure fanservice character.
