that is explicitly how it works for the cores by that author, he writes them in software till it passes testroms (at low speed, since he's not optimized for speed) and then he makes a highly parallelized version for hardware
this is why his cores are "feature filled" with speedups and save states, which burden more accurate cores

Saturn and PSX are about as perfect as you can get and both far better than any software emu and both have afaik zero issues or inaccuracies or even timing issues.

Perfect N64 emulation on MiSTer is literally impossible due to its architecture but it's *extremely* close. Only a few games have very minor issues and patches perfectly fix the couple games that had freezing or hangups. At this point it's even more accurate and compatible than ares or AngryLion with far better video and audio latency and native support for OEM N64 controllers and CRTs

MiSTer is a field-programmable gate array (FPGA). It replicates the original hardware logic at the circuit level. Instead of imitating the system with software instructions. The FPGA is reconfigured to behave almost exactly like the original chips.

In short, an FPGA emulator is closer to rebuilding the original hardware than just simulating it with code.

mister isn't an fpga, mister is a project that uses an fpga
most mister cores are not "the original hardware logic at the circuit level" but are software emulators using hardware implementation
there's a few computer cores, megadrive (not the "genesis" core, that is software on hardware too), and neogeo, maybe one or two others, that are doing simulation type, and even that's debatable if you can call it a simulation

there's a lot of misinterpreted information, and a lot of difference between "can" and "does", most cores aren't "do"ers when it comes to simulation

in the end it leads to a nice experience though, it's good to not have the input jitter associated with software emulation on windows, and there's almost never audio popping, and the only time you'll get shrill noises is when talking about it here

the "glitch", which occurs to sony specification, happened on the core at one point
maybe it doesn't now, but since pelp builds things to-specification first, he wound up making a core that replicated the "xenogears deus freeze" which you can very easily and quickly find information about, which is most commonly attributed to ps2 but is also in every type of port of xenogears because it is to-specification

It's great for both. I used CRT at first but I ended up preferring my 4K TV

It does, or I could just use my NASA PC to emulate at 4k.

the real truth is that they don't do it for any shekels
they want to feel superior to you over how they play video games

While I think these things are cool, I picked up a used saturn and n64 and bought cheap chinese flash carts.

OG hardware and controllers are a better experience.

When anons go up and say "Buy an ad", some of these do so with the cognitive notion that spending money to prep up a specific product/idea is way less expensive than to spend time prepping up

You goofed big time.

That's not even remotely close to hard evidence, and even if it were the case, who the hell cares? At this point, "buy an ad" or "shill" basically means "i don't know what this thread is about but i'm posting in it anyway", which is genuinely worse than shilling a product on /v/ because LITERALLY all it does is shit up the board. At least advertising hardware gives us something to talk about.
