>be 30 hours into a game
>suddenly realize im not really having fun anymore
>theres probably another 20 hours to go
Do you force yourself to finish games and remove them from yout backlog or do you just drop them and let it go?

Unless is unfairly hard yes I force myself to finish them even when I end up either hating it or not liking.

Xenoblade 1, when I reached Mechonis I was already checked out and I was still like 20 hours short of game left.

usually finish them
>Fallout 2
Isometric theme park but without Todd, needed week to finish it, played something else in between
>Rectum Effect Andromeda
took me a solid month to finish it, offline MMO just like DA inquisition, none of the plot elements were good, even combat felt like ass
>Itcher 2
another slog MMO-lite but combat is dog shit, insta death cutscenes and retarded narrative that somehow thinks I would spare the fucker that out Geralt through so much misery because he needed a scapegoat
>Underrail
never finished the main game, met chortists and realized I was really fucking bored, dlc bugged out so I couldn't even start it

Not really.
I had that happen with Rogue Trader. It was fairly decent and fun but I got to a point where shit started to get into a routine and the moment I start to see the next X hours of the game play out, it just kills my interest.
Thats the problem with a lot of SP games as you age, you've played through so many of them, they start to get samey very quick and you're less tolerant of boredom.

I go out of my way to 100% games I dislike, that way no faggot can dare say I got filtered or that I missed some totally cool part that would change my mind when I elaborate in full detail why the game is shit.

na, i just drop it
game reason for existence is to have fun
if it doesnt even give you that is a waste of time

Take a break.

Do something else for a week, perhaps two.

See if you feel drawn back to the game. If you do, perfect, you're having fun again. If not, try it out again at the end of the break; and if you're still not enjoying, give up and move on.

Abiotic Factor for me, and judging by the achievement rates, I'm not the only one.

>play great game
>3/4 into the game it turns dogshit
>torn between forcing yourself to finish it or droping it
>either choice will make you miserable
could be worse

your time is more valuable than the money you spent on the game
learn to cut your losses and move on from something you dont enjoy and your quality of life will increase
