The first two cases are solid (with the first having a fun twist and a nice subversion with the context that this is yet another Danganronpa), the third case is shit (and it wasn't written to be shit, it was just written poorly in general), the fourth case is fantastic because it acknowledges the formula indirectly and it's also just a fine case. The fifth case is alright, but was interesting enough overall. What part of the game was intentionally written to be bad? I can certainly point to parts that are just written poorly, but not because that was the intention. So please, give me some examples. I'm also happy to further elaborate on any of my points if you want.

Actually, the only part I see being intentionally written in a poor way was the rushed connection Tsumugi attempted to make to the original games, but that's literally broken in the next chapter to show that third game is in fact disconnected from the rest of franchise. So you can't be mad at that, because the point there is that it's unconnected not that "it's connected but it's bad and that's the point".

Firstly, the point of the game is that you are supposed to care, Shuichi literally says as much. The emotions you feel from those games are important, the whole franchise mattered. Secondly, the overarching plot concluded with the anime. As shit as it was, it was a conclusion. The third game was not a continuation and never was, holy fuck. It was literally advertised to be unconnected and the connection was literally a bait put there by Tsumugi that you still believe is relevant when the final chapter literally outright says that it has nothing to do with the Hope's Peak arc. Killing Harmony is it's own game, taking place in an alternate "real world" where people watch death games because they liked a franchise a bit too much. These posts show beyond a shadow of a doubt that you guys clearly missed the point entirely if you think this game is in any way meant to connected narrative-wise to the rest of the franchise. I know it's a mainline game, but it's more akin to a spin-off considering it takes place in a completely different reality to that of the original games.

Chapter 2s also have killer motives that hinge on character backstories. Mondo kills Chihiro because the little twink fuck is more "man" than him for being able to be honest about his secret and his past (while Mondo can't own up to having killed his brother). Peko kills Mahiru because of her involvement in the death of Fuyuhiko's sister. Kirumi kills Ryoma because she finds out she's the prime minister of Japan and needs out ASAP or the country's fucked and Ryoma accepts death because he finds out that there's nothing and no one out there for him.

Makoto or Kyoko are executed for literally no fucking reason because Junko was trying to bullshit as hard as she can. Kaede genuinely thought she was guilty, because she fully committed a murder, it was her plan, and as far as she knows, it went without a hitch (except for the part where she didn't kill the mastermind). There is no fucking reason for Tsumugi to ever be suspected when as far as anyone knows Kaede's plan was flawless when it came to actually killing Rantaro. The only reason the case is reopened is because Shuichi finds proof of a second ball which changes everything.
