I really don't like that Zonai devices seem to mostly boil down to holding and walking with them like an idiot, you can throw the fan to create a whirlwind which is fine, but if the rest are just throwing in place as well then I will quickly hate this mechanic. At least the elemental reactions might be interesting.
Roster also looks like absolute shit so far, I hope that improves.
I still won't buy it unless we get a sexy OC version of Twinrova though, as we know evil characters like Ganondorf will be playable.

It’s weird seeing a Hyrule Warriors game run so well. I’m definitely interested, but I’m not sure if I’m $70 interested.

Once reviews come out I’ll reconsider. I’ve gotta know that the package and story are worthwhile. I was pretty burned by TotK’s narrative, so I’m not all that jazzed about revisiting it

I am actually really excited for this game.
Age of Calamity was and is my by far most favourite Musou game. And from what we've seen of this game, it looks like it might very well be a gameplay upgrade.
I'm still uncertain of what I'll ultimately think of the characters or whatever narrative they're running with, but it's primarily the gameplay I'm interested in anyway and that is looking really promising to me. So I'm excited.

It's the same as BotW vs AoC.
The Koei Tecmo writing team that did Three Houses and AoC, and probably also the new FE game and Age of Imprisonment know what they're doing. The creative leadership at the helm of the Zelda team and people they outsourced to don't.

I just finished TotK again, and honestly any lasting impact it had before has completely worn off. The story just isn't good. It's sensational and "epic" but it's not impactful. The characters are even less developed than in Breath of the Wild and they don't really give Ganondorf any characterization before he's taken over Hyrule, and everyone in the present is like "Omg, we must stop the Demon King!!!".
As much as I hated Calamity Ganon, at least BotW is very effective at showing how Hyrule got derelict for 100 years and Link waking up to the music. but both have a real problem with narrative impact. They kind of spoonfeed the whole narrative in a strange way.

Even EoW still had Zelda being saved by Link at the beginning of the game and still having a presence throughout the game that Zelda wanted to reunite with, with no forced royals from the past intruding in on their romance like TotK did with Rauru and Sonia.

As the only Age of Calamity fan in this thread I was very upset at the lack of a switch 2 upgrade announcement. That game is already a top 5 Zelda game for me and 60 FPS could have raised it to #4.
