I played through the entire series a few years ago and fell in love with it. I prefer KF2 to 4, though. I almost wish from would make another one, but they’d just turn it into rollslop, meme difficulty shit. These games are hard, but not in the way that soulslop is. My boomer reflexes really appreciated the slower combat and comfy exploration of KF.

Must be a zoomer thing. I’ve never done this in my entire life. I played through this back on the PS2, enjoyed it, despite some of its shortcomings and still have fond memories of it. PS2 emulator. Gameshark code so your speed is a few 100% times faster.
Does it fuck up the combat? Sure. But you're not playing KF for the combat and it also makes the game playable without pissing you off. It's great.

For those that haven't played it and know the pacing, imagine Dark Souls but your top speed is overencumbered walking speed. Now you're walking from like Firelink to Taurus Demon. It's pain.

2 and 4 feel the closest to "Arriving in a surreal mysterious world that goes deep underground, full of tricks and traps and hidden passages, Indiana Jones with a sword" Type of game to me.

KF3 has too many big and flat open sky areas and is a really unfun game to learn and navigate.

I remember playing the first one (which apparently was the second one?) back in the day on PS1. Jesus christ, time flies.

Lunacid feels too fast paced and spastic to be a proper KF clone. KF being slow paced is what makes the game good and Zoomers getting filtered by it shows me exactly what makes my taste different from them.

2 arguably has the most open map structure. It's also the fastest-paced game on the very rare occasions that it runs near max FPS, and the combat difficulty is a bit better balanced than most entries. That said, I'm more fond of both 3 and 4 overall. A lot of the environments in 2 are kind of bland and over-used, which is a significant mark against it when exploration is the primary appeal of the series.

I played it last year with KB+M, it was great

4 is cool but having to grind the hell out of weapons to do weapon magic sucked and it has the worst final boss of all of them.

After Majuular's video I really do want to check them out. They don't necessarily look "fun," but more like a strange surreal experience.

I have been spamming about how good KF4 is on /v/ since before 2020.

KF4 question- I tried emulating it on PCSX2 and when I turn left/right the screens looks very odd/smeary, I assume it's an interlacing issue. Does anyone know what settings could fix this? I looked up some youtube videos, it definitely isn't supposed to look this way.
