Bad, but for good reasons. Fell in love with the design ever since I fought Surge. I can finally rest happy knowing the words "Mega Raichu" finally exist. I don't fucking care if those designs suck, it was inevitable. I don't even play the new games so I will never use them. But that confirmation will lead to many fanarts and redesigns of Mega Raichu, this means Raichu is getting love.
And with so many redesigns and ideas, it will eventually lead to the definitive Gorochu design. This is a win.

Raichu X might look fine as long as the render isn't how it always appears. Like if the tails are either flared up while it's standing or even if levitated with pure electricity. It could be capable of being cool in the right hands, with the right poses, but the render really doesn't do it justice. Adopting Pikachu's palette also just doesn't look good-- I get that it's supposed to be a combo of Pichu/Pikachu/Raichu, but it just looks bad when everything's put together.

Raichu Y would again be fine as a Pikachu mega. It bothers me a hell of a lot that they actively removed most of Raichu's traits when they were designing it. The weird horns are something that I can get behind, but not the fact that its ears reverted for no particular reason.

Nope. You lack reading comprehension. Zinnia’s story places the creation of Sootopolis via the meteorite impact only 1,000 years before the present. AZ’s weapon was fired 3,000 years ago.

So all in all that's 4000 years since mega stone meteors fell predating the weapon.
Even if you want to argue poor reading comprehension again, and why would you show how poor your own reading comprehension is, the idea of the sootopolis meteor breaks the link between infinity energy and megastones since it was already a keystone after the weapon was fired so there was no infinity energy for it to even absorb since it wasn't discovered that it was pokemon energy until the modern day.

They won't go back to beta designs that people like because they likely used the concept later. Like people want Kotorra but they made Spheal so it won't happen.

Gorochu is based on the "Storm God that sits on a cloud" concept that they used for the genies so they won't make him either.
