paimon has had it coming since 1.X.
to preface: paimon's VA is legitimately deranged, to the point where they stopped bringing her in for non-vital jobs (think version previews, which up until a few patches in always had paimon participating).
fast forward many years, there was a huge strike that was supposedly to prevent games media from feeding VA work into AI. this was reason was revealed to be a huge farce, and the reality was SAG (screen actor's guild, aka the union that initiated the strike) was trying to leverage their influence over non-union affiliated games to force them into the fold, turning them into union-exclusive projects.
hoyo games are not union projects, but had employed many SAG VAs (which is against SAG's rules, but clearly was being overlooked to spawn this kind of advantage).
a lot of bad blood was created with a good number of the VAs (keqing, sucrose, candice, paimon), because they were either willfully ignorant or had completely drank SAG's koolaid. they participated in witch hunts against "scabs" (industry term for people who take jobs available due to a strike). paimon did that and more, striking out against hoyo in general and spreading a bunch of flagrant lies to slander the company.
as a result, hoyo canned them all. to be fair, some of them, like candace's VA, publicly quit following their respective melty, so they weren't technically fired (they would've been anyway).
