Mostly the house stuff and Kei as a character. The house thing is cool in that the curse is slowly bleeding into your home in real time and it makes some pretty good scares out of it, but it also slows the game down considerably when the previous 2 kind of kept you in the thick of things constantly. It's a bit give and take.
What's not so is Kei, the third playable protagonist. The other 2, Rei and Miku, play more or less like how you'd expect a FF character to play as. Kei is designed for stealth in a game that regularly forces combat encounters and it's miserable playing as him. At max strength he's a fraction as powerful as the other two and his alarm mechanic doesn't work like the others. Normally, when looking through the viewfinder you can tell where an enemy is oriented based on the brightness of the alarm. Kei's tells you the aggro state of enemies so if you're in a combat scenario, you can't actually tell where enemies are if they move out of your view. It feels absolutely abysmal.
There's one more late game mechanic but it's not really THAT bad, plus it's a spoiler.
