I've already come to terms with the fact the games I want aren't going to be made, in any case I could always make my own, sure, they won't have the scope of big games from established franchises or big studios but, eh... whatever.

We're all coming to the realization that games were only truly exciting when it was up-and-coming and going through an evolution year by year. That hasn't happened for at least 10 years at this point. I can see that PS5 games are a tier above PS4 games but they both look like CGI-tier games at this point, and there's really nothing apart from animation fidelity and 3D models and shaders that has advanced. Developers learning how to even make believable 3D that's interactive with the player was part of the initial pull of gaming and for a while people didn't even have that as consoles only did 2D graphics, so everything felt new and interesting from year to year, and no one genre had taken off to fully dominate the entire market like pop-music yet.

let's see how long before someone comes ans derails this thread into pure economics and /pol/ with just the mere mention of orange man
