The actual problem is picrel. Fissile fuel is getting much more expensive than oil. Oil has been range bound in price from $60-$120 for the last 25 years. And that's in nominal currency - adjusting for inflation and oil's never been cheaper. Even if oil doubled in price, reaching the upper end of it's range, it wold still be unbelievably cheap. Uranium has absolutely exploded in price, and given all the new power plant projects, it's not going down any time soon. Building a new nuclear plant is a financially risky business, even ignoring all the regulatory problems.
