Also on a more technical note, they would've been scarier if their weird hand body came into play more, like they reached out and crushed you instead of just waggling at you with their thumbbody
Like yeah the dog, spider and fly shibito don't do much either but how they mix up the gameplay makes sense given their physical form, the dogs and spiders are harder to hit in melee because they're low to the ground and the flies take advantage of their flight to shoot you
Yamibito have the cool weakness to light but then their inability to take damage from the front for... some reason just kinda sucks
And Otoshigo actually does utilise his giant facebody by just fucking crushing you like a giant boulder, took me by complete surprise when that happened
I know I'm ranting but I've had nobody to talk about Siren with since I finished it a week ago so I'm gonna rant

Yeah it would've been cool to see more variety but at the same time I kinda get it, despite how apocalyptic things get we're really only seeing the initial stages of Hanuda's/Yamijima's transformations, so in Datatsushi's case it makes sense that he just makes the essentials first (fliers, crawling guys and guys who tie things together, they're all constructive creatures, and the brains would probably get way weirder given time)
To me, Yamibito don't have that justification, even at their peak in Yorito's ending all I was thinking was "so do the Hand and Chicken guys live regular lives too or what?"
Being left wanting more is a blessing and a curse, I get the feeling Slitterhead isn't gonna scratch that itch for me
>Honestly, survival horror games with bug-like enemies are my favorite.
Yeah but I wish the ones we do have went harder on why they'd be so scary, a giant spider that slaps you with poison is one thing but a giant spider that melts you from the inside with each bite while dragging you off to its dark lair would really put the fear of god (of spiders) into players
