I genuinely don't understand why they care? Pokemon was confirmed to have the most loyal autistic fanbase for decades now, what the fuck are they afraid of? Palworld is just a soft ARK game with a big fanbase, but i wouldn't say that it is cereal box material, while Pokemon literally sells out cardboard to scalpers. They outright stole a lot of designs from a game I was working on in 2014 but I don't bother doing anything about it because I neither have enough money to sue, nor would it do any good. The game I was working on was a passion project and the consumer recognition has already been tainted by this shit.

I think its the perception. Some of their designs seem like such blatant theft and people were even laughing about it. They would look weak if they didn't try to defend their IP with this case. Their company name even has pocket in it which Pokemon is a combination of pocket and monster.

basically some (2) games ape on the aesthetic of nintendo games but that's like the ceo's fault not the games but i can't lie they do have cool ideas game despite me not liking that they try to imitate their art style and when you see when someone say they don't have a original idea some of these ideas never have been really done before like metroidvania but you can make the monsters you defeat into your teamates or basically like everyone says pokemon with guns which is basically monster tamer but with weapons which is uncommon amongst the monster tamer genre
