Just stop enforcing the overblown mistake that is copyright and patent law, or at least scale it down to the individual level so that the license can only be held by individuals for a few years before going into the public domain.
Enabling megapublishers is good for a police state that wants to be able to institute mass censorship, but it's not a good model for a functional society.
Just about the only good longterm licenses enabled by this system are GPL copyleft licenses and that's just because they block copyright bullshit.
