I was struggling with him and thought maybe i rushed and need some better upgrades so i went back and did some of the quests. After completing the flea caravan quest they made me skip the boss fight and im kinda mad.

He did take me a while to get used to, but he telegraphs his attacks very clearly and you just have to not get greedy with your damage. It also lets you use your spear nail skill to get extra damage in.
Teaches you a lot about positioning, something that is mandatory for later bosses. I appreciate that.

Once you know what you're doing this might actually be the easiest boss in the game. Just stand still and wait for his attacks, dodge, and wait until he dives under you, and then pogo off him. That's it.

Man, as great as this game can be, fuck me does it like to punish players by wasting their time.
In act 3 even with a shortcut its going to slap a 30 second walk back to every fucking boss. Enjoy watching a slow ass animation, then walk, walk some more, walk more. Then you get to watch the unskippable boss start animation.
Holy shit. Probably a solid 1/3rd of the game is just wasting your time by having to walk back to where you lost a boss/arena fight.

And don't even start on difficulty, its 100% either BS difficult, or piss easy. And its all down to playstyle. Chatting with a friend while playing the game is hilarious, we are polar opposites in playstyle. I tend to 1 shot bosses he struggles with for hours, and the opposite for me.

I fucking love Garmond. Dude does contribute to the stagger value of the fight though. If he jumps up and slams the Moorwing, it will always stun it. Every single time an NPC comes to help you in a fight, it is the single greatest feeling ever, as it shows just how combat capable a lot of bug society is and how alive the world feels.

With Hollowknight, even if you get the "bad" ending it just starts you outside the last boss's arena when you reload your game. You shouldn't have fomo because there's nothing to miss. There is zero reason to follow a checklist or look at a guide unless you've already exhausted every one of your own leads and are legitimately stuck/can't progress.

She has an attack where two spikes move horizontally high and low, you have to jump in the middle to avoid this. However, there are times when you're already in the middle of an action when this attack comes out, so you don't have enough time to escape it.

Also, if you do the dashing attack, hornet will go up in the air. However, she can RNG into her own air attack. Because you're prone in the air, you can't avoid her aerial transition, and you will take contact damage.

It's fine if you want a challenge but what you all seem to gleefully ignore is that 20 hours of runbacks and general bullshit slowly but surely sour the experience, reaching the endgame and still being a frail piece of shit but that can at best tank 8 hits and dash through enemies once every 5 seconds is frustrating, having to go through the same 6 rooms to reach your ghost and then continue figuring out the boss strategy and executing it properly is frustrating.

I struggled twice against moorwing then I just tried always staying under him and the boss fight was baby mode. His projectiles become useless, his flurry strike missed me literally every time, and I only occasionally got clipped by the divebomb every 20-30 seconds. Completely trivializes the fight.

I'm not entire sure how I did it. I talked to him in greymoor. Then I happened to find him in sinner's road. In a room I already cleared, I was just passing through again, and he was there killing an enemy.
Then I stumbled into him a few times while exploring the citadel. Again, he was killing enemies.
Then I think I was in the upper right section of the citadel, when I found his again, and he wanted to dual.
From my perspective it was all blind luck.

I had lots of fun. Great game and almost everything felt really fair and balanced given how much you could destroy shit with tools.

Really interested to see what they got planned for the content updates. Loved the final boss, but she felt a bit too easy. Story-wise the ending was great though so I hope they don't ruin it by making a sad/open ended ending like HK had in the Godhome update.

Complete every billboard quest available. Quests given by npcs that you talk to do not count. You will know if you completed bone bottom's when all the npcs you can talk to have moved out. Bellhart's I believe is the key to the home. Songclave doesn't have a good visual indicator I think.
Once you meet those two conditions the caretaker at Songclave will give you a quest that once completed, will allow you to enter act 3 upon beating the final boss of act 2.

It's infuriating that every combo starts off the same and then has 2-3 potential different endings which you need to dodge in different ways so good fucking luck if you guessed wrong, and also she can randomly parry any of your attacks (even if she hasn't done the parry animation, she'll still just parry it) and she has two parries which ALSO have to be dodged different ways, and then in later phases she just starts flooding the arena with black environmental hazards on a black background so you can't see shit. And also she randomly teleports and does 2 contact damage so you can flat-out take 2 damage at any time with no way to avoid it. And the absolute worst part is that if you run out of shards you either have to do without or spend 10 minutes running back to an area where you can grind them then 10 minutes running back to the boss.

I didn't find it that bad to find everything. The hearts can be kind of tricky I guess. A couple of the monster journal have a bit of a novelty to them but are mostly reasonable to figure out yourself. The momentos are basically just going around to NPCs that you can still do things for. Honestly on my second playthrough I can say people wouldn't be walled by so many bosses like beastfly 2 and groal if they just came back later. Yes it's a genuine problem with the game that adds have too much hp, but you can just kill them easily with poisoned threefold pin/thread storm with enough nail upgrades and my favorite example is murdering groal within 30s with poison conchfly + conchdrill. I went from spending hours on the final boss to killing it in 2 tries because pure nail + upgraded hunters crest deals insane damage per hit.

Beastfly can go off screen and prevent you from seeing the height it's about to dash at. Furthermore just because you're standing on the ground doesn't always mean it's going to dash at that level.
