I'm just hoping the bugfixes and qol is serious, the game seemed fun under the jank. last time I played this the controller stuff was fucked up extremely, and I kept getting bugs like area teleports sending me back to the area you started the game at... and it's a fucking long trek to get back to a teleporter and try again from the starting spawn. I dropped the game over frustrating shit like that and just pray it's fixed up nicely.

So out of curiosity, how long ago did they completely redo the Chroma Falls map from a smallish but nice Plains map with some trees acting as a HUB to the god-awful massive and tree-heavy mess that blocks all line of sight that is is now? I haven't played since the construction zone was in the zombie/plant area where you got the biohazard suit, I think.

imo blocking the line of site with rocks and trees etc works to make it seem bigger than it actually is so you can get lost and wander around but still occasionally see the setpieces like the tree/ruins/village

The older levels have pretty jank collision, the treetops in particular it's hard to tell what you can platform on or just fall through, everything past greenhouse is more solid although it's still very easy to get out of the game area and softlock yourself when you get more movement options

At first I thought I had to use a nearby skyhook that activates only later, then after looking at the map, I only get informed that it was way uo the East, but never about the door in the royal city that leads me there and that you easily miss. Even with the map, I had to look on the Internet for directions.
