Near the end of the story they find a second time machine that lets you send your consciousness back in time by a few days. The protag is tired of always getting killed, so in one of the bad ends he decides to always rewind himself back one day to hang out with his friends forever. He does this for years (centuries?) and goes insane. Thats when the op scene happens, he realizes he can do anything even rape and get away with it by going back in time, but the girl figures out what he did and straightens him out

Well it's missing 3/5 routes for a start, it fucked up all the art and designs and it rewrote the story to be more fantastical with bigger stakes.
If you haven't read the original you should really be doing that first.

Yes, people hold up the S;G anime as an "actually good VN adaptation" but that's just plain bullshit from people who never read the VN. The anime cuts things down massively, Faris' entire route gets skipped, 90% of Moeka's screentime gets skipped so you don't even have any reason to care about her or understand why anyone cares about her in the anime, it changes a heap of shit for no reason and for the worse, and Suzuha in the anime is practically a different character entirely.
There'll be a lot of repetition with what you already know but if it's been a while since you've seen the anime it's definitely worth reading the VN to get the proper experience.
