This is going to sound silly, but literally and unironically just wait more, focus more on dodging than hitting, and the game becomes mostly braindead. Assuming youre using no tools, dont go for fancy pogo loops, dont try to create your own opening, literally just wait for the most vulnerable and safe opportunities to attack.

it sounds hilarious, but the game is unironically that poorly designed combat wise, its not interactive enough, ill explain why soon once im done with the game and write up the thread. So many enemies in this game are essentially designed to "take up space" and reduce the amount of space you have to move and create opportunities, it makes combat incredibly one dimensional where youre just essentially waiting for the enemy to finish their attack that takes up the whole screen (yes im being hyperbolic autists), so that you can attack

Good advice for some fights, not so much for bosses like the one in his pic that spawn infinite adds on a timer cycle, meaning the less active you are the harder it gets

Unequip those shit tools and equip the nail traps and poison
Chuck them where the adds spawn in, they'll either die outright as soon as they spawn or be left with 1 hit of health so they can be instantly dispatched
Then just take it easy, prioritize dodging and only attack a single time when the fly is passing under/over you or if it's slamming into the ground next to you. One hit in most/all of these openings is more than enough to finish the fight before you run out of traps for the adds and going for more than one hit is how people get fucked by the fly charging them at a height they can't pass under or jump over or end up falling in the lava.

You can clawline into its charges to score a double hit and avoid damage. You have I-frames when you pass through. You can also jump off to the side of the arena to fight the little guys while beastfly hovers around impotenty and never approaches if you are like little babby.

Witch seems great on paper but in practice I found it too much of a pain in the ass to get its heals to work against bosses without them either moving away from or into me.

I guess I'll goof around with Witch for a while before switching back to Hunter. I don't think I have many Act 2 bosses left, I've explored just about everywhere I can find. There are obvious spots I can't reach in Blasting Steps and the Pale Lake, so I figure there must be something to that later.

Put on the lava defense tool and try to get the boss to destroy the adds for you by baiting his head smashes in their direction
