The nerfed physics are shit. The whole point of SMB1 is the Physics and if you can't handle them you're a casual.

Besides that it has SMB2J, SMB All Night Nippon, SMB Special and a lot of extra content such as time trials and You Vs. Boo. Being prompted for a SMB ROM when booting it for the first time was surprising.

essentially the definitive version of SMB1 that nintendo would never, EVER, release on their own.

They're complaining that the physics make the game too easy.

>There are a couple known issues, mainly due to being built off of Godot, and these issues existing in the engine itself.
>Steam deck controls do not work natively >Physics are weird, when interacting with corners + the camera barrier
>Drop shadows jitter when playing with "Smooth Rendering"
>Several entities jitter at times.
Nice "remaster" you got there. Should've used an actual game engine like UE5.

You vs Boo is kino
I have only done the first level so that opinion may change drastically in time

Godot has plenty of engine issues but everything he listed sounds like developer error, especially that last one

I read "improved physics" and closed the tab. I actually like SMB1 as a game instead of mere legacy bait.

they didn't nerf shit, i know cause i beat all the levels by muscle memory, and if the physics were different i wouldnt have been able to do that

Anyone know if they're doing a UWP port of this? I'd love to play it on my SeX in the living room.

Mario Mania isn't happening because there's no way Nintendo would allow interesting takes on old game zones or Ray+Mighty tier character inclusions in their perfect product

I was working on a fork of a js port and adding multiplayer.

Maybe I should just join this project and try to add multiplayer to it instead

Thanks.
This is actually a fork of a javascript (web version) proof-of-concept port of mario (with only one level)
https://github.com/reruns/mario

This guy stopped working on this 8 years ago.
I grabbed it and have been working on it.
- Physics more in-line with the original
- Luigi physics added
- Multiplayer added
- Gamepad support added
- Various mechanics tweaked/fixed to be more in-line with original
- Splitscreen support added

Next steps in multiplayer are:
- Allow splitscreens to go to different levels
- Online multiplayer (Starting off it won't be interactive, you'll just see each other move. maybe I'll add starnagger support

My original plan was to be able to play mario online with my niece and nephew.

It's a web port, if it works on Edge it'll work on Xbox web browser.
But again, I'm considering dropping this to move to the Remaster. I wonder if Godot exports to Web decently.
