has a video game ever made your life immediately better?
>be me, 30 year old recluse and all around fuck up
>play persona 3 reload for the first time
>start viewing my life as a fatlus persona game
>start seeing my passion project as "going to tartarus" at night
>decide to go to the gym to build my social stats
>meet tons of great new people there, including my old high school crush
>view them all as social links
>get the most fit I've ever been in my life
>start going on dates with old crush, actually have really great chemistry together.
>start making friendships with random interesting people all over town
>help a bum find beer money, gives me his name and tells me he's got my back next time he sees me. Total Tower arcana vibes.
>phone is now constantly blowing up with messages from people wanting to hang out, I actually have to manage my time like in the game.
>make huge leaps of progress each time I work on my passion project while listening to "burn my dread."

It feels gay to say this, but persona 3 objectively changed my life for the better. Anyone else have a game do something similar for them?

The key is taking the first step. I was pathetic the first day I went to the gym, now its been 8 months and i can keep up with the best of them.

I was unironically close to trooning out but I randomly decided to try Blue Archive and it made me realize that all of that was just internalized misandry gathered from my home, internet, and school life by showing me something better desu.

It dangled cute anime girls while secretly putting me in the shoes of a fairly good male role model and I went "holy shit, I could do that" whereas previously I was stuck in the mindset of being my parent's abused housepet with no self-respect or identity. The optimistic setting and unconditional love presented in it made me latch onto it in a way I wouldn't with a different piece of media.
You shouldn't want to be a cute anime girl, you should want to have sex with them.

Kek, shit actually did gave me an idea for a persona game where you're a 30 year old dead beat instead of a highschooler and the gimmick is you unfuck your life.

Nothing drastic but in The Sims 1. I noticed how the Environment bar stat made whatever you were doing more enjoyable and fulfilling the higher it was. So now i am sort of a clean freak. I just think, "this game is already great, but i can enjoy it more if i tidy area" and this gets me motivated

Not vidya but I saw the anime Long Riders and bought same style bicycle folding bike as MC and put about 1000 miles on it a year.

It's the "Room" bar. I know because I looked it up today to describe the same effect you're talking about that the game had on me as well lol we got the same autism from the same game

KS honestly made me a better person. I played through each girl's story back to back and had to stop near the end of Lilly's because it hurt so much. Got kawata dick for like 2 weeks after playing but started putting myself out there more and talking to girls. Ended up getting a girlfriend in HS too (this was back when I just turned 18)

I would also see Sims1 character working out and shut game off and go work out. If he can do it, why not me

Persona 4 Golden really impacted me, probably because when I played it I was the same age as the characters in the same school environment so I could relate to them a lot more

You should! I put it off for a long time because it seemed like weeb shit, but after playing reload on game pass I can say it's worth the hype.

Persona 3 made me get a girlfriend but then I missed having time for my videogames.
Videogames are more important bros.
