I hated the final boss in first game. bosses in general are gay and I don't care about MC having relationship drama with the characters.

i do not recognize the supposed significance of a game 'leaving' early access. the game has been largely playable for years. if you wanted your release to be an event, don't have your game largely playable for years. Ever since minecraft wasted their 1.0 release with an update not that much different from any other random beta update, the concept of 'releasing for real' is more a marketing stunt than anything else.

Some games like Noita are an exception where their early access period is just a few months with a set goal for what the game needs before it can be called ver 1.0

Initial early access was great and I've been skipping patches to wait for the full release.

Hades 1 was a mediocre as fuck roguelite for people who dont play roguelites. Pretty much all of its praise was just marketing budget and normalfags following trends. Hades 2 is virtually non-existant in online discussions because SG hasn't spent millions advertising it and the mediocre to bad gameplay means nobody who actually likes roguelites is talking about it either.

yeah there's a much longer cooldown after dodging, instead you go into a run after. You're meant to focus more on positioning
the other thing is that each weapon has charged versions of the light and strong attack that cost mana, so there's a lot more complexity and variation to weapon movesets
but it still feels a lot like hades 1

Naw the majority of gods are several conventionally attractive in the game.
They just took a couple of the mythological figures that were historically depicted as conventionally attractive and made them absurdly ugly. So the ratio of ugly is low but they really went all out on making them as repulsive as humanly possible, concentrating all of the games ugliness into 2 or 3 characters

I have to wonder how this one will wrap up the endings and make them repeatable. Unlike the first game where Hades himself wasn’t really doing anything wholly wrong in guarding the exit of the underworld. Chronos and Typhon do seriously need to be stopped, so how will the runs work post game?

Guessing it’ll have something or other to do with Hypnos’s powers with some kinda dream world or something? Unless Melinoe is ALREADY in some kinda dream world, being god of nightmares and all.

I played Hades on a whim and enjoyed it immensely. Perfect chill game.

How is the game compared to the first one?
I played it when it came out but didn't think it was anything special, thought the enemy design and bosses were quite annoying in general and once I figured out what the good power ups and build were it all got reduced to a simple flowchart for every run kinda.

Yeah. I bought it when it became available in EA. Played a bunch back then, but not the later updates. Excited to grind, because Hades was one of the very few rogue-lite that were actually fun to play. That said, I still have Silksong and BG3 to beat before that.
