The rocket punch needing to have an actual target in addition to having shit damage makes me wonder if whoever made that tree just hates Amon.
The actual lock on for it is so precise that it's easy to sit there and mash because an enemy keeps moving, and even then it's set up to dash and then do a melee swing when you get to the target, meaning you can still miss because Amon is ten feet tall.
Meanwhile his green tree lets him shit out AOE pools and explosions everywhere that just murder everything, and while I haven't tried the blue one I don't see how it can be worse than the shitty rocket punch

The fire tree was just anti-synergy for me. It's all about being up and close, but my main gun is a sniper rifle. With the Crucible skill tree, you can do high damage from a distance. It gives stuff like
+crit damage
+reload speed
+damage amp when you reload
which is perfect for doing high damage with guns. I farmed Horace a few times and I killed him really fast with my new build.

Getting more range flexibility worked out anyways since I got a class mod and torgue enhancement that make any explosions I make like 250% bigger and do more damage so I just grabbed a shitload of torgue guns and turn any fight I'm in into a Micheal Bay film when I'm not throwing axes

I dont think we had a chance of getting the really great elemental deaths from the first game back but you can still absolutely gib enemies and blow limbs off at least. Headshots can still pop heads, and a sufficiently powerful hit from any non elemental or explosive weapon will turn enemies into a splatter of gore and meat chunks.

I think after 3 I'd rather they overcorrect than undercurrect.
Theres enough goofy stuff in sidequests and jokes kept where they fit in the main ones to where I'm not upset by it. Their previous humor misses more than it hits to the games detriment, and for every joke I liked in 3, like the list of cool shit that had to be spaced to save the cargo bay from the fire including jetpacks, a grappling hook, and left handed guns, theres two dozen from the twins, Ellie, Rhys, or Tina that are so off the mark its detrimental.

Almost everyone you meet is way too friendly in this, like in BL3. I miss when no one was really your friend and weren't all that grateful when you helped them, vault hunters were considered suspicious mercenary scum, and all the gun companies were run by sociopaths instead of "good" and "bad" manufacturers. Even Scooter threatened to kill you or have you killed a few times in BL1. It really made you feel like you were on your own. This whole "we're all in this together, pal" cheerful family vibe just kind of gets on my nerves.

I'm surprised we got cryo (alternative corrosive) and radiation (alternative shock) without a sixth element to act as an alternative to incendiary. Would really help with those moments where you get a flesh enemy that's resistant to fire. My idea would be a "viral" element that has a DoT with a chance to spread to nearby enemies. There's a good claptrap mission in BL3 where you're helping him complete some good samaritan tasks he forgot about for years, there's one where he promised some girl he'd take her out dancing, but she'd gotten crippled and grown bitter in the years since, there's a nice little sequence at the end where he convinced her to dance with him anyway. And in BL4 there's a side mission collecting up all his lost Pandora keepsake memorabilia which is ultimately about not being a prisoner to the past and learning to start your life over. Claptrap is annoying, but they tend to give him the most heartfelt and sincere side missions in every game.

Ive never really tried them but Order could be useful depending on how the bullets fire after a charge. If they all fire at the same time as one shot, then Order snipers would be some of the best, potentially more damage than a Jakobs if you can set it up, otherwise you can single shot for flexibility. If it's burst then send it directly into the trash

the gameplay was fun but the dialog and story are fucking AWFUL, and it's made even worse by the fact that it's so central. they make you stand around for ten minute stretches just listening to their dogshit dialog, with no option to skip it, so even muting voices can't save you.

Not that Anon, but mine were:
1. Almost every side quest is a meme mission where they beat you over the head with a single joke the whole time
2. Legendary overload. There were so many drops that after a while I didn't even bother picking them up.
3. The "who gives a shit?" main storyline which meanders all over the place and has no real sense of an escalating threat

Other than that the gunplay is fun, all the DLCs are better than the main game, and I surprisingly really enjoyed the Arms Race mode (needed another map, hope they do the more again in 4)
