The shills can't decide if the game is supposed to be a heckin small indie game or the only RPG with production that can even hope to rival Final Fantasy. Both are specifically given as reasons why the game is supposed to be notable (the latter is brought out when people question why the poster somehow specifically doesn't care about any turn based RPG released between FFX and this, notice this pattern), even though the whole thing stinks of hacked together slop assets that wouldn't pass the bar of what would be acceptable for FF.

Here in Greece only low effort children's cartoons get dubbed, more "elevated" animation like Spiderverse or Ghibli films or anime movies get released on cinemas with subtitles. I remember Sony made a big deal out of fully dubbing the God of War remakes in Greek because it rarely happens, and apparently it was good, but I never played them.

For whatever reason, way more people went out of their way on every platform to review this game compared tp the usual numbers. That kinda lines up with the ridiculous shilling this game had on here.

Why are you trying to run through a basic economics lesson here? Games sell for what they are valued at to the publisher and player both.
For example the recent Doom was also priced at $80 and was a commercial flop selling less than 1million copies whereas if they had priced the game cheaper say around $60 it might have enticed more people to pay the game.
GTA is an interesting concept because people aren't simply buying a single player game, they're buying into an MMOlite eco system game so the valuation of $100 is seen by players and publishers as worthwhile.

>Full price games are at whatever the developer/ publisher wish to sell their game for.
You can't second guess the publisher of the game, just like I can't say E33 wouldn't have sold as well or be liked as much if it was sold at a higher price point. You're the one that seems confused. Is the price point the publishers choose the right one or actually reflective of the market they're trying to reach? If it's the latter, E33 wouldn't have sold as well at a full-price point and its fans wouldn't have liked it as much paying $70 for a turn-based JRPG with western character designs.

Instead of putting them just on her arms, she also put them on her legs so she can now hover, and needs to stay barefoot to do magic infused kicks and shit

All of this is slapped on lore explanation cope btw, the real answer is the character artist just drew her barefoot because he thought it was hot and modeled her around it.

Anon, if had pirated it and liked it enough and could afford it then I would have gladly payed $70 for it. I did as much for WUCHANG, even though WUCHANG was only $60. Would I have liked it even more if it was $20? Yeah, probably. I'd be wondering why the fuck more people aren't buying it since at $20 the game is a fucking steal. After playing WUCHANG, I have decided that I would have gladly paid $70 for it. If E33 is as good as people make it seem, then indeed-- I would have bought it immediately.

Your logic is completely flawed from the ground up and it is a genuinely sad hill to die on. The game isn't even $70 and you are shitting your diapers about how much worse it would have been if it was. I haven't even played E33 yet and only just installed it on my PC yesterday. I can't afford to buy a new game right now, so whether it was $50 or $70 has literally no bearing on whether I would enjoy the game or not lmao.

Alright, then getting back to what you said.

>Would I have liked it even more if it was $20? Yeah, probably. I'd be wondering why the fuck more people aren't buying it since at $20 the game is a fucking steal.

This is my logic. You have encapsulated it. A lower price point can make your gaming experience feel better.
>the game is a fucking steal
E33 is $50. If it cost less, it would be even better. If it cost more it would be WORSE. If WUCHANG was $80, $90, $100, would you still like it as much? No.

And, you're pirating it. You're not chancing spending $50, $60, $70 on a game you don't know you liked already. The price you value the game at is set by your experience on it. If you had gotten WUCHANG and not liked it, it wouldn't be worth $60 to you. Maybe it would be worth $30 or $40. That's how most people feel after playing a game they bought. They judge it based on the price they paid for it. Your system is different cause you pirate the games first and therefore play a lot of games for free without having to ever judge them based on the price you paid for them, which is what my whole argument is based upon, which you already understand.

A game's enjoyment is relative to the monetary valuation the player puts on it, which it decided by the price point of the entry fee. In your case, it's free most of the time.

So, to summarize, had you bought WUCHANG at $60 first, I don't think you'd like it as much because you'd have higher expectations for it having already spent the money playing it, which would've reduced the enjoyment of the game. Instead, you played it for free, enjoyed it, felt the price the publisher is asking for was appropriate and then donated money towards them. It's the same mindset a lot of F2P players have.

Eh, actually that's a fair point. One of the worst things about Dragon's Dogma 2 was that I paid for it at full price. That was like twisting the knife. Since ultimately what a person likes about a game is how it makes them *FEEL*, things like the price feeling unfair can bring down your perception of it as a whole and make you forget the parts you enjoyed.

You know what? Fair enough, anon. I admit that I was hasty in calling you a retard. A game's price absolutely has a huge bearing on whether or not you can bring yourself to enjoy it or not. Which is precisely why I try to avoid paying for one at all. Being burned by a game you pay full-price for stings in ways that almost feels insulting.

Which is why the Clair Obscur team did the right thing by selling their game for cheaper. Even if the overall quality of an indie game is significantly better than that of a AAA, their humble status means that they have to play by the rules of the market. To sell it for higher would have signaled grandiosity and made people more critical of its flaws regardless of how egregious they were.

Generally, unless you sell a game everybody already wants, lower price means higher revenue. It's obviously better to sell 30k copies for 30 bucks each than 10k copies for 60 bucks.
And indie devs that release their first game with a price higher than 10 bucks - unless it looks really, really good - are retarded.

Well, actually, you just greentexted (i.e. "projected") the narrative that the shills use to fight people who didn't like the Act III reveal.

Me? I only said zoomers, because only a zoomer who hasn't played very many video games could think that Act III's reveal is 10/10 worthy. I guess a boomer could think it too if they also haven't played very many video games or consumed very much other other forms of media, but it's more likely that a zoomer would be the level of inexperienced required to think that "it was all a dream" is 10/10. I'd even argue it's most likely for someone with that opinion to be underage, but perhaps modern media has degraded so far that this once ridiculed trope is now seen as genius.

It's easy. The game has no depth to speak of whatsoever and relies entirely on the Parry mechanic for its dopamine. The way you get everyone to do a lot of damage is that you equip everyone with exactly the same Lumina. That's it, that's the trick. Just equip all the +damage Lumina on everyone, and also the Lumina that let them explode and break people and deal damage and then revive at the beginning of battle. Turn every character into the same character and you win. It's that easy.

Verso's attack, something with "Stars" is really good, and Stendahl (a French writer) is really good. The last person is unnecessary, but you can use Sciel to buff the other 2.

There was a paid shill campaign here for about a month, and it instilled within the "unpaid shills" the notion that anyone who says anything negative about this game at all is a brown third worlder who hasn't played it.

Naturally, when you have this level of cult like ideology within a fanbase, no real discussion can ever occur, so it's just a bunch of shitflinging. There's also "tendie" that gets thrown around occasionally, but that's literally every thread on this website. Actually, /v/ is kinda just like one large shitpost conversation and every thread is practically the same at this point. Whichever video game a thread has the pretense of being about almost doesn't even matter at this point. So, how am I supposed to talk to you, when you believe I'm a zoomer who hasn't played many games, even though I'm 37 years old and playing games since I was 4? When even now, working normally 5 days a week, 8 hours a day, I manage to finish ~100 games a year, so in the past, when I had more time, I could play even more?
All stories have been told already long ago. It's about how you tell it, the context is important.
Also, E33 doesn't tell you "it was all a dream", it lets you decide whether you consider what happened "a dream" or not, hence the two equally good/bad endings.

E33 is the pinnacle not only of video games but of art in general.

Writing? E33 is better written than Moby Dick.
Visuals? EE3 is more beautiful than Sistine Chapel.
Music? I would rather listen to E33's OST than the whole work of Bach, Beethoven, Mozart, etc.
Gameplay? You could make a game with Bayonetta combat, Ninja Gaiden Black difficulty, Dark Souls level design, Super Mario 64 platforming, Baba Is You puzzles, Hollow Knight exploration, etc. and i would still rather play E33.

What? Are you actually retarded? You're actually retarded aren't you? That would explain a lot.

It *is* "a dream", that's not even up for debate. The game very explicitly infodumps this on you in Act III. The painting (i.e. the entire game) is not real. That's 100% a fact that the game infodumps on you in Act III. If you can't understand it, then you're retarded. Just straight up, if you can't understand one of the easiest to understand and explicit infodumps of a twist in video game history, then you might just be a retard.

So, E33 just *is* "a dream", no matter what. If you don't understand this, you're stupid, and it starts to make sense why you are so cultishly defending it. So now that we got it out of the way that you misunderstood your own game, let me explain to you what you think you're talking about:
The two different endings are whether or not Maelle/Alicia stays in the painting and forces "Verso" to act out the play that she desires to live inside as an escape from reality, *OR* whether you destroy the painting and eschew your escapist tendencies and join the real world with your family and live the less than perfect life that is unpleasant, but is real. Absolutely, without a doubt, the painting is fake in both scenarios, and if you didn't understand it despite the very plain and completely divulged with no pretenses of convolution infodump, you're just retarded. Additionally, if you pay more attention to the game which you definitely did not, the "real" ending might be a "Written" world that Maelle/Alicia likely also created, because there is every hint that she's a "Writer", not a "Painter", but that's a different conversation that surely escaped your feeble grasp and is not actually relevant to this current one we are having.

It doesn't fit the trope though. Most of the characters are native to the painting and can't exist outside of it, they have nothing to wake up from. The events in the painting still happen. As far as anyone is concerned painters are basically gods who can come into their world and change it but it's not any less real than any other fantasy setting that has different planes of existence.
You make assumptions what is the base level reality you sympathise with but Dessendres don't live in "our" world either and it's not inside their imagination or something. They explicitly have supernatural powers to create worlds through the medium of painting and writers presumably are similar.

There's tons and tons of ways, Maelle is the most obvious because she has the highest multipliers for the least setup (if you have the weapon that starts her in Nuke Mode) but everyone can get it fairly easily. Still, since a lot of characters benefit from a turn of setup (buffs and debuffs or the character specific mechanics like Lune's stains), Cheater (lets you play twice, gotten from the big symbol-headed nevron in the sea between acts 1 and 2) is very useful. Personally I just run one char (usually Monoco) with the kamikaze build (auto death, breaking death, whatever else), then have Verso break on his first turn then End Bringer on the second. You can do similar things with the other chars, build up Lune's stains then consume, Sciel's foretell, etc. But at the end of the day, just stack damage Luminas for a giga alpha strike, all the glass cannon shit. Can't kill you if you one-shot them (or parry everything like you're supposed to).

I said most and Maelle/Alicia doesn't fit it either. Painted world was not part of her dream/imagination or anything of the sort. She was an outsider who was reborn having lost her memory, but when she regained it she was still in the world and it still existed and all the events up to that point still happened. This is maybe a form of reincarnation/amnesia thing, not "it was a dream".
The world exists within the painting and will continue unless someone destroys it. You could maybe stretch it that it's kid!Verso's soul but other painters can interact with it regardless and it's just a thing that exist in their world they can go in and out of.

It seems that you, like other naive cultists who have come before you, saw the word "dream", interpreted it literally because you're a E33 shill with no autonomous thought, and now you're trying to prove how the Painted world is not literally a dream. And then there's another deflection argument forming which is seeming to call the fact that it's inside a video game to be "a dream" or to say that all media is "a dream" because it's not real, or maybe even that the real life is "a dream" because we don't know that we aren't in a simulation ourselves. Strange logical leaps.

To be clear, I do not think and am not saying that the Painted world is literally a dream. I can't believe that I need to say this and that you can't just use your brain and understand this, but I'm not saying that the world of E33 takes place inside of a literal dream, nor am I talking about the fact that it takes place inside of a video game as being "a dream" either. I am talking about the narrative inside E33 as it is presented inside the world of E33. I am not talking about anything else except that, and any normal person wouldn't need this to be explained to them. The reveal of E33 is just an overplayed and very bad cop-out trope, and that's what the trope is called or referred to as. "It was all a dream!"

>Hey Alicia remember I tried to take your mother out of the painting and she locked me in a dungeon for a hundred years? That shit was wild huh?
>NUH UH DAD IT DIDN'T HAPPEN IT WAS JUST A DREAM
Three people can't have the same dream. You're retarded. The events transpired.

I'll engage with you honestly, despite my better judgment. What do you think a dream is?

This is stupid. The Canvas and everything in it is created by the Dessandres, but they're not "dreams", the people in there still have personalities, thoughts, dreams, they are born and live and die like anyone else. There's functionally no difference between a citizen of Lumiere and one of Paris, and this fact is discussed by several characters (who, it goes without saying, are all equally fictitious).

>A twist where it is revealed previous events in the story were just part of a character's dream, hallucination or some other escape from reality, often put at the end to reveal the entirety of the story was some sort of dream.
It's not a dream or hallucination, there's the "escape from reality" but even if you try to stretch that one it obviously doesn't mean the situation in the game because the painting exists independently of any character and they can interact with each other inside of it.
If you read your links and checked the examples you'd see it's not applicable here.

Yup. Checkmate atheists. E33 is not "just a dream" because it's a painting, not a dream.

That's right. The trope "it was all a dream" can only possibly describe an actual literal dream, and since E33 does not take place inside of a literal dream world, we win and actually that proves it was the greatest story ever told. It's that simple. Checkmate.
