The problem is how badly it bleeds out from where I originally put it. You can see it pretty blatantly on the green Yoshi's teeth, where all the color from his nose has bled downwards. I used to have some marker paper that didn't have that issue quite as bad but I've more or less completely run out of it and I'm too broke to buy more.

I understand that feeling. What I used to do was take a designated sheet of paper to be the “buffer” and try to take the bleed through issue away. It works, but you have to remember to fold it and move it along as you color (if needed).
Paper is so expensive. I just stock up when HL have their 50% off sales.
