Is it really that bad? I enjoyed the first game.

Its basicly the same gameplay wise but theres just some really stupid character and plot directions.

It’s a really fun game just like the original but it clearly had a committee telling the devs what to do. Like that one black character keeps inserting himself and by the end of the game he’s one of the major supporting characters and I’m thinking when did this happen. He’s very grating. I dunno history but I know broadly that middle east countries were far ahead at the time but that black guy is so annoying laughing in your face at how bad your medicine and technology is. Also Jews have been inserted into the game and you have to save them and it turns out a Jewish character is very close to the protagonist too. Otherwise gameplay us fun and the new blacksmith dlc is fun too.

It's pretty good but like the first game it's just generally slow. Everything takes time, like a big time waste simulator with occasional fun points

it's not bad if you played the first game with all the dlcs
henry forms up a gang that ends up a lot like band of bastards
you still have mutt from theresa's dlc
the combat is downgraded: two directions were removed and you no longer have dedicated stab, its the downward swing now. parry slop applies to even wolves now.
crossbows aren't too bad, bows are still good, and now you get hand cannons which are ok.
if you liked theresa in the first game you can remain faithful, just pick the correct obvious dialog.
the side quests are much better than main quests.

I don't know. I'm not getting it until all the DLC comes out and is on -80% discount.

I though about this pretty thoroughly and to conclusion that E33 is a deeper overal experience and KCD2 is a better video game. If there was a "work of art" gaming award I'd give it to E33, but my "video game" award has to go to KCD2.

Gameplay wise its a bit better. Stealth is good. There's more skills, it's easier to avoid counters (so random farmers aren't master striking) and some build options have an effect on events. Roleplaying wise it's hit or miss. I'm sure other anons have pointed them out but some story moments and beats felt like a hard turn from how the previous game went.

The game starts very strong. Dropped into the pseudo-sandbox with no items or perks, free to explore and follow leads with the goal of entering the castle that dominates the horizon at all times.
Then it blows it's load half-way through. The pacing and progression stalls before rehashing or watering down everything for the second half of the game. There are some decent setpieces, quests and fights in the later half of the game but the motivating factors to reach them are much weaker than in the first half.
