This gets a bit complicated, but if the character didn't first appear in a game, it would be considered not Vidya.
Now, if Tangle and Whisper appeared in Sonic Dash first and then showed up in the comics, yeah they would be Vidya origin. But since their cameos are from the comic, they're still /co/ territory, even if they made a cameo in the game. The question could come up again if they get a costume or entirely new appearance that only appears in the game.
In regards to Dofus, it's a hard call. Since I don't know the franchise as much as the fans do. All I really know is that the game came first, and then the animation soon after. It's hard to tell who starts from where for more obscure series. And if the character was released at the same time in the game and the animation, shits fucked.
Sonic is just easy to single out because there are a lot of fans that do a lot better tracking this kind of information.

Now, keep in mind it also works the other way around too. There could be series that are cartoons or anime only, but then they get a game that shows off a character that has NEVER appeared in the animation at all prior to the game. Android 21 from DBZ Fighters come to mind as a recent example. She's fine to request on /v/ because she made a first appearance in the game.

It does get very muddy with multimedia franchises though like with Digimon and some parts of Pokemon, but average anons that request those materials usually stick to the characters that appear in the videogames (save for one carfag). Generally it's judgement calling and more 'trust me bro' gut instincts.

I like obscure (furry) characters and sharing what I find with others, and Patra clicked a lot of my boxes so I fired up a thread for her. It was a lot of work finding content because there wasn't much in terms of fanart and a good portion of image bumps were me. Very blessed the thread lasted for 3 days and wasn't killed off early for being "too furry". It was a nice balance of character and game talk.

If there is one thing that pisses me off to no fucking end, its shit artist communication. If you were not interested in the request I directed at you, at least tell me "Nah, I ain't interested", instead of ignoring me and leading me on for an extremely long time making me think you didn't even see the post/reply, or that because there was no reply, perhaps there was a WIP being made since it was neither yes or no.

When something is a request or a favor, there is no time limit and I think a lot of people forget that fact. Whenever I have been waiting for a while, I just assume the artist either forgot, moved on (which is fine), or it wasn’t turning out well, so they dropped it. That’s cool, it was a request, just re-request. If you get the art randomly one day, it’s a nice surprise and you may get two cakes.
If you want something to be guaranteed, pay. Simple as that that. P a y or do an art trade, if they accept those. Of course, do your research on that artist before you pay and ask them their usual turnaround time if they don’t give that to you already. Yes, shit communication sucks, but you could also reach out if you want the art that bad from that particular artist. People got lives outside of 4Chan, Anon.

Read what I wrote carefully, it was not an open request it was a request directly squarely at a certain artist. Yes there was a risk they didn't want to draw it. But I was left waiting forever while they drew other things. I wondered if they even saw my post since the thread ended. I can’t speak for others, but money has been a pretty great motivator, personally. However, I get it. You get some duds, but those people usually have crap records already. That’s why you need to thorough and direct in your vetting of artists.
