I'd personally swap accel and handling but everything else is right. Accel is good for recovering from hits but handling is sorta not needed. If you want tighter drifts, there's a gadget that increases drift turning radius and boosts meter gain. I wouldn't call it a bad stat but it's something that you can overcome just by learning the tracks.

Actually, it's not goalpost moving. The time frame is the difference. There was less emphasis on covers for series since most of the focus was on Subspace. And Sonic being included was a major deal on its own. Since 4 didn't have a storymode, that allowed for more leeway on music, which even Sakurai himself said they were focusing more on.
And, by the way, Castlevania and SNK has a longer run time AND more tracks. I guess that makes it better than Megaman, huh? :^)
