I actually really like the game a lot. I feel like it walks the tightrope of certain aesthetics that you either love it or hate it. It feels to me like a combination of Cyberpunk and Dark Souls. The levels are designed well, the traversal feels like a dungeon crawler, and the combat is varied enough to keep me interested. Wished there were more bosses though. I skipped most of the dialogue because the story was meh. But all in all it is a really fun game.

In terms of pacing and progression, it's kinda like Deus Ex: HR. You'll get thrown into some linear action levels, then you'll drop into a more open area with a bunch of sidequests to do, then it's back to another linear setpiece, rinse and repeat.

The minigame itself is fine as long as you turn on "simplified mode" or whatever it's called. It was designed for the PS5's adaptive triggers and you're supposed to use a certain amount of pressure to keep the fish in the green zone, but without pressure sensitivity you need to mash the button instead. Simplified mode turns it into a timing minigame instead. Other than that, it'd be a lot better if there was some kind of fishing log for each spot since what you hook is pure RNG and it's not clear what fish are available in what spot or whether you're hooking nothing but mudskippers because you're using the wrong bait, or if you're just unlucky. Following the quest chain helps with that since it always tells you where you need to be and what to use to catch specific fish, but if you just want to catch fish in a random pond on your own time you're totally blind.
