I genuinely think you have autism. A major critique of nine sols is long winded npc rants that most people who play the game cite to its detriment. You can bury your head in the sand and call them filtered. You can and should ignore their suggestions of how to make a better game, but you shouldn't ignore that they expressed displeasure with the narrative delivery explicitly. That tells you that you should not model your game after nine sols because on a subconscious level it did something wrong.

I read every single textbox in nine sols. I didn't mash and took in the whole story. It was unremarkable. It wasn't bad and I didn't hate the characters but I didn't care for it either. The visual dramatic depictions did a lot more heavy lifting for the story than the walls of philosophical navel gazing.

Eigong is the only fight in the game that is remotely hard and it's just because her moves are unnatural or the player hasn't had time to learn them
Most people had not praticed the charged parry more than necessary, much less chaining them together
You need to doublecheck what dodging methods are legal against each one of her moves, and there are many of them. Like how do you dodge her phase 3 I fly fucking everywhere attack? You just have to try it
Nothing you have to do in the fight is hard it just takes time to learn it all

I like how phase 1 exist so phase 2 can punish you for doing the exact same. And phase 3 starts off on a supermove that ignores most of the rules in the game, which can then be cheesed by just doing the opener since she doesn't react to missing

This experimentation takes time and Eigong has like what, 15 different attacks at least? And can chain them together in different ways? Plus you die quite quickly if you don't hold dont block like a pussy and take internal damage anyway, which makes the process of learning longer
You also need to learn when to heal and whatnot.
Let's not pretend like she doesn't have at least two fake-out attacks that are meant to fuck people up until they learn to be patient
There were probably some people who even avoided parrying unless they had to which, again, contributes to her being perceived as hard
The game pidgeonholes you into playing a certain way, and only that way. If you were a dodger and jumper guess what bozo, you are supposed to parry everything. It's piss easy if you do, and if you give up on attacking and just talisman + parry, since the game won't let you take damage if you do since you can heal back internal damage, but most people don't play that way
Every other fight in Nine Sols is a lot easier and Silksong is a lot harder in general
Exploration in Nine Sols is easier. Most bosses are easier. Enemies are easier. Platforming is easier. The segment that killed the most people is probably the prison escape one let's get real

It's not a matter of capability it is a matter of willingness. Nine sols fails to entice the reader to be willing to engage with its text dumps. I think the major issue is not even content or delivery it is structure. It falls victim to being a video game first in its identity hierarchy and a narrative second. The structures that make for a good video game should take precedence.

Ultimately the flaw was trying to blend the two unsuccessfully. In one hand you have game progression and in the other narrative progression. Nine sols often gatekeeps game progress behind narrative progression. An example would be the gmo seed. The player gives shaunshaun his seed. The player in video game progression mindset wants to see what reward comes from this action. The player is focusing on the reward and disinterested in the text standing in the way of the reward. If most of the characterization texts were decoupled from rewards and voluntarily engaged with the story would be better received.

This is why I take issue with an autist who claims that nine sol's flawed structural narrative presentation system should be regarded as an example of good writing in video games. His only evidence is "I liked the story." He is not paying attention to or heeding the vast amount of criticism and other voices saying they found the story to be the weakest part of the package.

Can't speak for the Hollow game. But... I just wanna write that my controller broke during this fight. Granted this same controller survived the entirety of Sekiro including Isshin + Entirety of The Last Faith. I've played Nine sols and HK+Silksong. Nine sols isn't as difficult as people make it out to be. Parry takes care of 90% of attacks if you just learn the timing. Eigong is relatively difficult as she forces you to use all of your defensive options and demands you pay attention, but I don't consider 9S to be that difficult as whole. Even Eigong will start to feel easy once you've learned her pattern.
