ITT: We post games harder than Hollow Knight: Silksong

You loved Silksong and its difficulty? You perhaps wanted to play more challenging games, even?

I'll start: Crypt Of The Necrodancer
Hard mode: it has to be a metroidvania
Bunny extinction mode: not Rabi-Ribi

I was never able to clear monk mode.

Trough of the NecroSlopper is not a good game.

Necrodance is not hard in the slightest. You could argue the challenge characters deliberately designed to be nearly impossible to beat the game with make it hard just as you could argue playing silksong with on hand and blind folded would make it hard.

>rng difficulty
maybe for the gimmick characters like the girl with the lamb or dove at times but everything else in necrodancer is 100% beatable with skill including monk
Aria low% is second nature to me and somehow unironically easier for me than playing cadence at times..
I can reach zone 4 with coda reliably without cheesing. All-chars runs just take time

It's the most skill based roguelite/roguelike I've played. You're (almost) never thrown in a situation where you have to force a path by praying for a good outcome or deal with a shitty hand/debuff. It must happen like once every 300 runs with rare instances of the map layout and enemy placement fucking you over. 1/300 odds is more than generous compared to other slop roguelites where runs go nowhere often or end suddenly because of arbitrary stat checks or forced loss conditions that were 100% outside of your control/skill level.

It's not that bad. It's closer to the bindings in hollow knight. Pantheon 5 all bindings was slightly harder than beating Aria low% for me. Beating steel soul mode is like playing vanilla aria all zones in both silksong and hollow knight. Nothing unreasonable

Crypt of The Necrodancer would be nice with different music. I like the OST but after awhile I got tired of it. Throw on some Slim Shady and Nas and Method Man tracks then we can talk.

I got to the final boss in Aria in that game, was only one hit away from killing it, died and rage-quitted. I have not seriously touched the game since then.

HD? Nah. For 2 on the other hand CO runs are masochistic.

Marrow’s a solid pick, anon. That movement tech and parry system are absolutely brutal until they click, and even then the bosses give no forgiveness. First playthrough felt like I was in permanent hitstun. Definitely in the same vein as Silksong but with even less room for error. If you liked Marrow, try Moonscars too-underrated and similarly soul-crushing.
