Modern devs aren't just competing with each other, they're also competing against a 25+ years-long backlog of games that are not only fun to play and full of SOVL but are pretty much completely devoid of modern day progressive politics. Not a trace of gay race communism to be found in Halo 2 or the original God of War.

I bought the game. Witcher 3. Played for a bit and realized I won't get to fuck Ciri because she is my daughter. Imagine she being the hottest one in the universe and I won't get to fuck her. Seriously killed all my enthusiasm for the game.
