I finished the campaign last night with my friend, and got my Vex to 50. Overall I really enjoyed it, a lot more than I expected to. I initially only bought it to keep up the tradition of playing co-op Borderlands with my friends, but found the gameplay to be really enjoyable and for now I still have the itch to play more compared to how I felt after playing borderlands 3 (where I enjoyed the gunplay, but hated needing to listen to everyone's stand-up routine between mission objectives) I did not play any of Borderlands 3's post-launch support or DLC so I can't give a fair opinion of how the endgame compares, but unlike Borderlands 3 I have the itch to play more and will likely end up buying the DLC (not right now of course, pre-ordering DLC is retarded. Depending on if I still feel the itch and what they reveal as the DLC beyond the roadmap they have will be when I decide to make such a purchase.)

Gunplay is like 3, which was the best in the series so far. People forget the older games' guns felt like cardboard.
It dialed back big on the cringe writing. It's obviously still there, Randy can't help himself, but it isn't as ever-present like it usually is. The bad guy is just a bad guy and not some eccentric smarm machine.
The character building is very good.

Shame they haven't figured out how to make all their characters as fun to build and play as Krieg. Once they do that this franchise is outliving all of us.

Im enjoying it . The writing is not as good as bl2 but its not shit like bl3. Gameplay is top tier. Weird decisions like money and eridium being kinda useless because you barely ever use it and get so much of it its kind of retarded. Seems like sloppy game design. Quest are all fun and interesting. If you don't think they are good, how does the game benefit from very optionally having them in there? The only good "walking slog" I can remember in any old game was the ladder climb in MGS3. Which was only good because of how ludicrous it was with the song that was playing. It was a parody of that type of mechanic. Bethesda games moved to their controversial horseshoe dungeon design for a reason.

And it's not so much the missions that bug me personally as the fuckin loot caches, that frequently have you walking back to the TP/hub you just came from after you cleared everything out on the way. Mission walks are usually short, have some dialogue to listen to, and drag you through more combat, and having to juggle the mission item while fighting isn't nothing, like the former is.

Basically you get elemental shard and all the cryo ordanance upgrades, and the skill which gives ammo back on elemental procs

Elemental shard is 100% cryo proc an each one that pops adds 20% of your minigun ammo back, and they often chain
