Yeah it was great. But It Takes Two was even cooler. It was better than Psychonauts 2 though (which was also great).

I enjoyed this game because it reminded me of a better time when games were colorful and self-contained and genuinely a good time to play, with no season passes or multiplayer bans for saying wrongthink or a $30 DLC. It's like a game from 20 years ago with a shiny new coat of paint and good modern controls.

But more than that, they didn't make any part of it tedious. The old games always had some collectathon bullshit that would have brought your net enjoyment down, but the MOMENT I feared rift apart would do something similar, every time they gave me a new tool to make it better. That's some good design.

Writing was shit, gameplay was whatever, readability of enemies and key objects was shit, sound design was weak.
I pirated the game and still felt ripped off. The porn of Rivet was the only good thing to come from rift apart.

Its good but I felt like something was missing with the weapons, didn't feel as memorable of a selection as past games. I still prefer GC, UYA and CiT but Rift Apart is probably the next best one. R&C1 is just a different game since GC onwards is strafe heavy shooting. Strafe in the first game was pretty shit and got at the end.

Honestly same. Say what you will about the story or pacing, but the way it just felt good to move around and shoot stuff with colorful particle effects flying everywhere scratched a very specific itch. It's like comfort food gaming-nothing groundbreaking, but damn if it isn't polished.

Yes but it was about as short as Into the Nexus for me - both games in 4 hours and 10 hours for 100% challenge mode. The gameplay was good as the graphics/art direction was great. The story sucked, the arena is hot fucking garbage, OST is ass and there is 3 enemy types in the game? It's about a 6/10 that looks pretty.

This is the only game I've enjoyed playing with RTX on, and maybe CP2077, I haven't finished it yet.

Besides that? I think Returnal for the shooting+strafe while jumping constantly gameplay is the closest. Spyro is only similar to R&C1.

First game feels very different from games after, in both control scheme but also how you got upgrades to go to earlier planets to do new stuff there.

2nd and 3rd are similar, 3 is more polished and you feel some of the MP-leftover content in the main campaign/side stuff. 2 is probably the hardest of the trilogy and a forgettable villain.

This coming from someone currently replaying the PS2 R&C series, when I heard RA was coming to steam, I held off telling myself it'll never hold up to the classics.
But I was wrong, it's just as good.

I like this shit. But its too easy/family frendly. With one hit mod (for you) game become true ratchet masterpiece equal to GC and UYA without armor.
