As someone who loved the Vita and unironically owns physical copies of ~80 Vita games, I don't believe Sony can provide a good handheld experience anymore.
I adored my Vita and believe it to be the last of the good consoles, but the only way Sony can come close to "succeeding" (not winning, but not failing) with a new handheld is if they:
>Don't charge for internet usage
>Don't try to create "home console" experiences
>Create games dedicated to the handheld console (it can be ported to PS5/6 and onto PC, but it MUST be native to the handheld first)
>It must have good ergonomics and must not be larger than the Vita was. If it is, it must not be THAT much larger.
>No proprietary bullshit like memory cards. Even if everything prior to this came true, if proprietary memory cards are still a thing it'll be DoA.
I bought an Odin 2 Mini because it was almost identical to the Vita's looks, and it unironically has been one of the best choices of my life. It plays everything up to the Switch perfectly (currently playing Radiant Historia, Unicorn Overlord, and Luigi's Mansion). If the bugs can do it, so can Sony.
