vast amounts of money can drive people crazy.
they are quietly moving the money out of the country before they plan their escape, never to be seen again.

If he had used anything but Cryengine he could have finished the game in 2018. But instead he chose to modify an engine made for a small-scale first person shooter with intensely realistic physics, to handle millions of kilometers of accurately scaled outer space
>kickstarter gets funded
great! lets make the game! >more money comes in
oh wow! I can add this now! >even more money piles in
holy shit! lets expand further! >yet more cash arrives
this is unbelievable! add more content!!

That seems like a reasonable amount of funding for one game?
I wouldn't WANT to exit scam $800 million in just 13 years but I'm sure I'm a fat fuck

Its obvious. Star Citizen niggas want this money making machine going. As long as there are retards who keep donating money to this project, the "TBA" status wont change. Im convinced that these niggas will release this game only if they start getting hard lawsuits, or when the donation well dries

Blizzard actually had to release and maintain an MMO for years to hook people with this level of sunk cost.
You don't even have to actually release anything to do it these days.

Cig is incompetent, that being said it's pretty much the only game I play now and I enjoy it greatly.
I came back and started playing a few months ago after not paying attention to it at all since 2019.
Its much better than the past but still not a whole game by any means, I do hope it succeeds because I would definitely love to play it.

My collegue is playing this and he spent lkke 800 dollars on it. He told me that he hopes they will never release it, because that way he can be sure that it will become "more great" every year
Chris is an idea guy and a horrendous manager. He needs someone to smack him everytime he gets carried away from initial plan.
That was the case with Wing Commander and this was the case with Freelancer. But now he has no one keep him in line.
I'm sure that if you imagine something that COULD exist, but doesn't YET exist in our material tangible universe, then it could indeed be called an ambitious space epic.
