> he is the most famous one right now.
discredited, Kendrick raped him for the past two years. And also you ignore the mumble rap that actually has been raping Drake at home, vs his global appeal in places like China or the UK (prior to his downfall), that aside, rap and it's demographic are polar opposites to what genre you could associate to goths. Rap is literally 'fuck you' music at 2 am, it's literally the most pro-consumerist shit next to Country shilling moonshine and beer.
Pop's demo is normies, rap's demo is normies and nog normies, Manson wasn't shaking ass or biting a bat's head off, he was just an anorexic weirdo making shrill music. His clear and obvious target demo was goths/youth.
>Goth community was never big enough to make some huge impact on their own. So them liking/disliking something was never important.
And this is where you argument kinda eats itself, because I can concede that goths are a bit tamer prior to Manson's hit to the mainstream, but at the same time you also had Korn, Slipknot, actual early Grunge and screamo, tons of different alt rock that could attract Goths, all punk-y nose ring wearing weirdos of the 90s.
I still don't buy this idea that your experience is indicative of the 'community' as a whole, you are one individual making claim in a 'community' that spans the western hemisphere and different eras.
Whacky piercings and tattoos are not a 2000s/2010s only fad, goths have been doing it forever.
