Pretty sure I started with 2 points in brawl and got another from a book. I've only been using melee weapons
And every single sidequest is impossible if you have no lockpicking or hacking so I've been putting points where I need them

I am still doing plenty of Brujahing, for example I just beat the fuck out of a gargoyle with a sledgehammer. And I did the museum fully lethal cause my guy can't sneak

Controls could be way worse, for me the problem is the little and clunky control you have in battle over allies. I know you can restrict their disciplines and even control them directly but yes, either a crpg or some menu with more precise ordera would be great.
