I beat the final boss and I am combing the fucking map for secrets but it's annoying as hell.
I know I am missing at least one map since that's achievement wasn't unlocked.

These sections wouldn't be anywhere near as bad if nail jumping wasn't as fucking fiddly. In the original bouncing on spikes seemed like it would be trivial just hit the spikes when you fall but for some odd fucking reason it requires precise timing otherwise the bounce doesn't work. I ended up with fucking sore thumbs from some of the platforming sections because it just felt like the controls were bad and not responding to the inputs.

The equivalent section from the first game is much harder. Hornet has way more air control than the Kight does.

some people swear by wanderer pogo for platforming but keep in mind that wanderer gives up the delayed floating that hornet does after a pogo on her other crests. its the trade off, in order to pogo faster, you have to pogo faster. its why reaper is still the preferred option for pogo platforming. vertical pogo, delayed float, and fuckhuge range that even reaches nearly in front of hornet.

of course, that means putting effort into a bunch of paths that players will never see, and not just making a gauntlet of linear challenges

its worth noting that the choked container of spikes is an element that makes it EASIER.
more traditional open air platforming of high difficulty does not have a visual tunnel maps your general trajectories for you, and generally has punishments worse than death (aka significant loss of progress).

The pogo is slightly different depending on the crest you use, even Reaper can take some getting used to because it forces you down a bit. Wanderer is literally the same pogo as the first game.

hit it, and then you take damage instead because the pogo i-frames randomly didn't work since this games devs don't know how to code.

such a wonderful game design where you can't even use all but 2 of the main moveset items because if you use any of the other ones you are unable to do most of the platforming in the game since it would make it 10x as difficult since almost all of them have diagonal facing, directional downward attacks at a 45 degree angle instead of a pogo attack, forcing you to use either the reaper or wanderer.
