It excels at mimicking artists' styles whose works are frequently uploaded to those kinds of art gallery sites. As far as I know it is the only completely uncensored commercial AI option. I can't speak for local genning. Some people swear by it but personally all that stuff looks incredibly samey to me. A lot of times when I post NAI images in the local genning threads they are pretty impressed by even the most basic stuff NAI can do, but I really just like it's incredibly simple interface as ease of use. You just put the words in the box and boobies come out. Prompting is based on danbooru tags and you can take any NAI image, put it into NAI, and it copies over the entire prompt and settings.

It took a long time for me to wrangle 4 and all my methods stopped working with 4.5. 3 could do amazing things, but the more they make the model capable of understanding, the less it can improvise. We see the same thing happening going from DALL-E 3 to Sora/4o.

It costs anlas to use some extra features, but they aren't necessary at all. As for getting banned, from what I understand, there was some sort of script detection (for scripts that automatically keep clicking the "generate" button for you) added for a short time around v4's release. It was getting false positives and stopping people from genning. It has been removed since then. Personally, I've held down Enter and continuously generated images on cooldown for quite a bit without anything getting flagged.
