These are not the same thing. There were already two Relics with the crest stone of Lamine before Weave was even announced, the Ichor Scroll and the Rafail Gem. Crests don't come from a specific dragon, they come from a type of dragon. There are more crest stones than there are types of crest blood: we already know this for a fact because the Kingdom own a shit ton in their vaults and you defend about 30 for Rhea in Chapter 11.

I saw that post too. I think the most damning part is the fact we don't have a Saint or a Relic weapon for Ernest. It implies he not only wasn't killed in the Red Canyon, it means he also didn't fight in the War of Heroes with his own weapons.
That points to him having fucked off to a faraway land long before shit went south, which lines up with this new mysterious dragon cult in what is presumably Dagda. That's literally his entire arc for the first part of Azure Moon. He has a martyr complex because he believes everything bad that's happened is his fault (despite it clearly not being the case), since he couldn't stop his family from being assassinated by (who he thinks) is Edelgard, which he thinks was the domino effect that led to Faerghus being taken over. He becomes a broken man because he thinks his only way to atone for his percieved past of failures is to kill Edelgard and let himself die afterwards, as that would absolve him of his 'sins' and let everyone else live on with better lives, since he feels he's the one that's bringing about all the suffering they cause by being a noble with a target on his back.
Byleth literally has to shake some sanity in the guy and make him realize that if he just goes on a suicide mission it's not going to fix anything and that he needs to get his head in the game and become a proper King.

We really need to see the names of the crest before we can come to any conclusions though. While Dietrich obviously has the Crest of Lamine since he's coming from Fodlan, Cai's crest could be the Crest of Aubin, indicating he got it from Aubin himself or is part of Yuri's bloodline, or it could be called something completely different, indicating that him and his family got the crest from a different ice dragon.
