How did the "real" game end up being one of the worst gacha games? There's like no effort put into the content at all except for the bosses which don't have any sort of respectable design philosophy because you can iframe everything. Boss fights turn into cutscenes of your characters ultimates. Also there's a tangible degradation of quality of everything over time; 4 characters in a row who do nothing interesting and have nearly 0 gameplay. A new town and area which look worse than everything except the immediate prior joke region. Hoyo explicitly confirming they want to AI automate the entire pipeline from concept to gameplay and they're still distinctly focused on making new games instead of updating the cash cow or any of their other titles. Despite that they don't branch out into different genres which would attract new types of players.

Dailies can be completed in a few minutes by using resin now and turning it in. You can half the amount of dungeons it takes for free or use crystal cores to use x3 resin each run.

they added a new feature that allows you to get free constellations for limited characters, it's pretty nice. They also let you use standard brick dupes to lvl your characters to lvl 100. They're making a lot of improvements to the game. There's also other things like you know fuck it. log into our game for 8 weeks for a powercrept constellation you plebs and enjoy our added FOMO. Don't forget about the top up reset so you can lose 50/50s to get your lvl 100 characters!

I think it depends on the person really. I like collecting everything I can but if there's a major financial barrier placed in front of it I lose all interest to even begin to bother. FOMO still gets me, I feel a bit burnt out on Marvel Rivals for example but I also don't want to fully drop it because I do want the battle pass and event skins that drop on occasion so I'm in this limbo where I have to play if I want this stuff but don't want to play because I'm kind of burnt out and cold turkey quitting is not in the cards for me.

For whales this goes one step further because they are obsessed about having everything otherwise things feel "wrong" or like they're limited so they have to have it. People with whale and dolphin mindsets are also easily manipulated with the time crunches of things being available which is why you always seem them day 1 buy every skin available or are day one binge purchasing whatever they can.

There's also the mindset of people who want to be #1 and they will spend any amount of money to do this. This is very prevalent in China where people spend literally hundreds of thousands of US dollars (Lord knows how much in RMB) just to be #1 on a server for like two months before it gets merged.
