My opinion has almost 180'd. I was excited to get a Switch 2, and the day before I was going to buy it Nintendo ruined Mario Kart World. Bananza didn't look good enough for me to bother picking up the Switch 2 either. And nothing revealed at the last direct is worth it as well.

I would be happy to pay $500 for the console if the games were worth their price. World isn't worth $40 at this point. Bananza looks to barely be worth $50. And Nintendo wants me to pay $80(50 with bundle) and $70 respectively. Meanwhile Silksong is $20 and Expedition 33 is $50. Why the fuck would I upgrade from my Switch when half the games coming out are multiplat and on the Switch 1?

I'd say more within the last year. Switch 2 jacking up the price of games, petty lawsuits, and patent trolling all coming to the forefront. Nintendo has always been litigious, but they usually didn't have the other two problems and their games were mostly good to distract from the fact they are pretty much Japanese Disney, if Walt Disney was still alive. My guess is compared to the other two primary console makers and their states in gaming, Nintendo has overall managed to have kept a more stable foothold and isn't reliant on third parties like the rest of them. As a result of their mostly closed ecosystems and IPs that are mostly within those ecosystems, people do pay more attention to what Nintendo is doing compared to Microsoft and Sony. Seeing how nowadays its almost a rare thing for a game introduced by Sony and Microsoft news events to be exclusive to their platform for lengthy periods while Nintendo IP stuff is more likely to remain on their systems. Therefore it seems more people pay attention to what Nintendo does rather than the others.
