It would cost $3150 to send in 126 cards to PSA for grading, assuming you aren't paying them yearly to be in their "collector's club" (then it would only be $2400 plus the membership fee). He got ripped off even worse than it seems.

It's a grading thing for card collectors. At this point it's nothing but investor trannies sending their cards to get put in a slab of plastic with a very very subjective rating between 1-10 and if you can get a 9 or 10 you can sell it to other retards for hundreds or thousands depending on the card. Oh and if you get a 10 for an expensive card that's worth $2k+ you won't get the slab back unless you pay PSA 10% of the value on top of what you already paid to get it graded.

If you've ever tried to sell shit piecemeal you'll quickly learn how much it fucking sucks. Basically if I had a bulk lot of something, say 100 figures, and I was selling them individually for $30 a piece online (ebay/marketplace/shipping/etc), and someone offered me $1500 cash, in person, quick and easy for the lot you bet your ass I'd take it.
