KOTOR 1’s plot relies far too heavily on its twist. Take that out the equation, and all you’re left with is an OT rehash with some Prequel elements thrown in and a lamer villain. That and it has really juvenile dialogue writing in places.
KOTOR 2 meanwhile still packs a punch even if you know its twists in advance.

The gameplay is way worse. It lost a bunch of mechanics and just dumped skill points on you to compensate. Stealth doesn't even exist anymore

It's pretty obviously hammered in throughout the game. >Revan always wore a mask >nobody can ever say what he looked like >Bastila's battle with Revan wasn't shown conclusively >you don't even remember being assigned to the Endar Spire, nor do you know your own bunkmate (because you work opposite shifts) >Bastila personally requested your assignment to the Endar Spire >you have dreams about the star maps
