Why are these games written like they're for retarded children? Like every sentence has to be repeated 2-3 times by every other character in the scene and then one additional time by the MC's inner monologue, then after that there has to be 5-6 different variations of "n-no way... [thing that was just stated]........ it can't be!" and then finally after that comes the next line of actual dialogue.

My issue was being able to translate the logic I clearly understood in my head to the specific right piece of evidence I needed to select to proceed. Just play on the hardest difficulty, it unironically makes things more fun when you have more pieces of evidence to work with. Some of the minigames are annoying when they're harder, but you're never in outright danger with your health if you fuck up. You have a ton of leeway with it, due keep in mind that you have time limits though, but those are also generous.

As a character he's kind of fucking nothing, for some reason people always remember him as having more conviction than he actually does. Makoto from the beginning has bigger balls than he does and Shuichi continues to grow over the course of his game. But Hajime is kind of stagnant, he remains insecure as fuck until the end when he needs Chiaki coming back from the dead for him to do anything. I think the whole "ego-death at the end of the game" was better with Shuichi, and the part with encouraging everyone to move forward was better with Makoto. Also, he continuously gets BTFO'd by Nagito which is funny as hell. Like Kyoko does a lot of investigative work, but there's no point in the game where I think "I'd rather she take over" than I did with Nagito.

It's weird you make the point of Kyoko when she literally does solve every case. If Makoto died in any of the cases then Kyoko would still be able to solve them

V3 is the only one you can somewhat make a case for because Shuichi does actually solve all the cases but he's still made to look incompetent even when he grows a pair because Shuichi never properly puts in the effort to solve the bigger picture of what's going on and it's revealed that only Kokichi was really doing that when you get to see what his room looks like. Shuichi even makes that point himself when he gets to look at all the research Kokichi was doing in his room.

Shucihi spends the first couple chapters crying about Kaede, then he has to grow a spine, then he has a spine but doesn't get the bigger picture, then he kills Danganronpa when the bigger picture is revealed to him at the end

Why would you want Izuru in the game? The whole point is that he can do anything and knows everything instantly. It'd be boring to have him around

V3 is my favourite game because it spends the most time on the friendship between Saihara, Kaito and Maki (whereas other games relegate those things to free time events, meaning they're never really integrated into the plot) and because its finale is by far the most brutal one. Aside from barely anyone surviving, the survivors basically suffer complete ego death and then decide the only way forward is to collectively commit suicide, that's omega based.

Kyoko and Kokichi hold their respective protagonist's hand way less than Nagito, and even Chiaki, ever did. Makoto is forced to do all the work because Byakuya thinks he smarter than he is and Kyoko doesn't participate as much as she should. Nagito single-handedly solves the entirety of the fourth case and has Hajime beg him for the answer, while in the third case he reveals he drops a bombshell of an evidence that everyone else was too stupid to see. The key point I made here is that I never felt as if I wanted the other characters to take over, Hajime was just so fucking incompetent that there was no other choice. Despite Shuichi taking a bit to get over Kaede, he still held her lesson to heart and confronted the truth whenever possible. Kokichi or no, he genuinely solved the cases and didn't back down, taking Kaede's lesson to heart is why he could stand up against Kaito to indict Gonta. Also, Shuichi's finest moment is literally him seeing the bigger picture, when he BTFOs Keebo. Keebo also suffered Hajime-syndrome when I was thinking "God I wish he would just shut the fuck up and let Shuichi handle this", because Shuichi asserted himself and was correct. Neither hope or despair were the option.
