Is "The Forgotten City" any good?

It's decent

Yeah, worth a playthrough.

>homophobic character is secretly gay
Meh writing, meh gameplay, better timeloop games out there
Anonymous No.721190798 [Report]
It’s not great but it’s as close as we’ll get to a comfy Roman game so I like it.

Shame. Shame. Shame.

Yeah, it's really fun. Discovering that it was a TES mod at one time made perfect sense.
Anonymous No.721191030 [Report]
I tried the mod and I would never spend money on it, no matter how polished it might be
Anonymous No.721191082 [Report]
Yes, it's great

I didn't think too much of it as a skyrim mod, though the setup was pretty neat. No idea if the game they made out of it is any good

I hated it. Feels like a Skyrim mod in the worst way, a series of uninteresting NPC conversations in a mediocre environment. No idea why it's had so much acclaim

>Feels like a Skyrim mod in the worst way
Because it is. It’s just a copyright free version of the original Skyrim mod (which was just a straight ripoff from a quest in oblivions shivering isles dlc.)

It's great and you should stop reading it asking about the game, if you are interested just go play it so it doesn't get ruined by spoilers
Anonymous No.721193889 [Report]
Is it worth playing if I already played the Skyrim mod?

it's an interesting attempt at something. I definitely wish more people tried to make games like this.

it doesn't feel that plausible though for the most part, but if you can look past the silliness it's kinda neat

Isn't this the game where you try to free a retard from prison but the retard fucks everything up in the end anyway?

I really enjoyed it. Wish more games were like it. Chose the gun.

Ruined the ending for me.

I played it for like an hour and found it kinda dry, lot of exposition dumps in a row, didn't bother keeping with it.

I only played the Skyrim version that inspired the standalone game, but it was pretty neat yeah

Is it wrong though?

I don't get the point of making a game out of a skyrim mod.

I agree with that, a lot of the writing is quite contrived for the sake of the game's fluidity, it really does feel like a rough draft rather than a polished experience but it's short enough not to overstay its welcome, if you've already played Outer Wilds in the same genre then do play that, otherwise go play Outer Wilds you fool.

It's good, except the ending is kind of eh.

I had it sitting in my library for a while and only knew about it because it was a Skyrim mod. Gameplay wise it's more focused on the dialogue and solving basic puzzles to connect them together and set up events through different time loops. I beat it in like 5-6 hours. If you wait until the end of the month then it'll probably be on sale for less than $10.

The bad guy has him locked up to not fuck everything up, but you need him unlocked because he has a quest item in his cell and 5 minutes after freeing him he fucks it up for everyone.
>>721195767
It was genuinely lame. I don't like how they made it very obvious they wanted to explore more of that lore with how cryptic they were being in the dialouges.

if you made a popular mod then wanted to do into actual game dev you'd probably wanna just redo what you did right the first time just so you don't fall flat
