Nintendo is shifting back to the way they used to be with the GameCube, their best console. Meaning if you thought the Wii, DS, Wii U, and 3DS with the Nintendo people popping out all the time to make skits and announce games like they're best friends was what "Nintendo is all about", you never knew what they were about. So what you are seeing now is the real core gamer clashing with whatever is left of the people who grew up with the Iwata era. ACTUAL gamers want what the Switch 2 is offering and we are buying at high numbers. DK Bananza is one of the best damn games to have released in years. If you haven't played it, tough shit. Maybe buy the Switch 2 since there still hasn't been an emulator for it despite everyone claiming there would be on day one. Maybe stop being this cheap where you can't spend just $450.

Stop seething about Nintendo going back to the time when the overwhelming majority of us knew they were at their best (gen 6). The Wii was not for us. The DS was not for us. The Wii U was not for us. The 3DS was not for us. The Switch was the first turn to try to win us back. Iwata, Reggie, Miyamoto, Sakurai and all them getting on camera all the time was not anything core gamers want. You know what's crazy, the pricing of Nintendo's ecosystem is really not that bad when you consider the other handhelds on the market like the Steam Deck, ROG Ally, Lenovo, etc. all cost more, don't have exclusives like Nintendo do, don't all come with a dock like the Switch does and don't have detachable controllers like the Switch Joy-Cons. Third party games go on sale a lot on the Switch 1/2 with the only real difference being Nintendo exclusives having a higher price, it's pretty obvious to see why they're the kings of handheld - nobody else can get it right.

Compare the price of the Switch 2 with the price of the Xbox Series X, the PS5, and ANY gaming handheld. You also get Mario Kart World for $50 if you aren't an idiot and don't buy the bundle. Donkey Kong Bananza is one of the best game to release in a very very long time and Nintendo is about to release Metroid Prime 4 after years of being in development. We're getting a new Pokemon game, we have full on remasters of Mario Galaxy and Galaxy 2 (games everyone apparently loves) for just $70, third party devs are on putting all their games on Switch 2 and more. We're getting literally Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade and will be getting the third game in the trilogy along with everybody else.

If you're just made you might have to pay a little bit extra, that's on you. Maybe you need to get a job. If you have one, maybe get a better one or learn how to not be frivolous with your money.

Why are you so defensive about the prices? Why is what the competitors charge important when Nintendo has jacked the price on the consoles everywhere except Japan? I don't think it's ethical to charge more just because you can. I don't think raising the price of the previous console to make the new one look less expensive is good natured.
